Rolex has unveiled the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller 40 watch equipped with the new Cal.7135 movement featuring a specialized escapement system at the recently concluded Watches & Wonders exhibition in Geneva. It has quickly become a favorite among celebrities. Not only did spokesperson and retired tennis star Roger Federer wear it before its official launch, but Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise also swiftly got their hands on one, leading to a “watch clash.”
The Land-Dweller watch boasts several appealing features, most notably its new integrated slim commemorative (Flat Jubilee) bracelet. The outer links of the bracelet and the top edges of the middle case are chamfered and polished, resembling a shimmering light band. Next, the eye is drawn to the bezel adorned with triangular patterns or diamonds, complementing the unique honeycomb-patterned dial. Inside, it is equipped with the new Cal.7135 movement featuring a specialized escapement system, which is slimmer than previous Rolex movements. The brand has released the Land-Dweller 40 in white gold and steel with a white dial, the Land-Dweller 36 in 18K eternal rose gold with a diamond-set bezel and hour markers, and the Land-Dweller 40 in 950 platinum with an ice blue dial. Currently, the models worn by Federer, DiCaprio, and Cruise are the white dial versions.
