In the upcoming Hong Kong Autumn Auction, Phillips Watches will showcase 200 top-tier timepieces from November 22 to 24, attracting the attention of many watch enthusiasts. Among them, the lots from Rolex and Patek Philippe are particularly prominent.
The Unique Charm of Rolex
One of the highly anticipated auction items is the ROLEX exclusive to the Sultan of Oman, a 18K Gold Cosmograph Daytona watch, estimated to be valued between HKD 2.3 million and HKD 4.6 million.
This watch, model 6265, is a manual-winding Daytona model. Its uniqueness lies in the red “Khanjar” emblem at the 12 o’clock position, which is the national emblem of Oman, symbolizing its royal provenance. The watch first appeared at a Geneva auction in 2016 and has remained in pristine condition in a private collection. The watch’s dial and case show excellent condition and have never been polished.
In addition, the Richard Mille model RM59-01 will also be showcased. This limited edition of 50 pieces pays tribute to Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake, with an estimated value between HKD 2.35 million and HKD 4.7 million, inspired by his nickname “The Beast.”
Patek Philippe’s Classic Works
The lots from Patek Philippe are equally anticipated, with the model 1463 being one of the most sought-after vintage chronograph watches among collectors, estimated to be valued between HKD 1.6 million and HKD 3.2 million. This watch is known for its sturdy case and prominent chronograph buttons, with only about 61 pieces remaining in the market.
Most striking is the model 1518, which is Patek Philippe’s first mass-produced perpetual calendar chronograph, with only 281 pieces produced, estimated to be valued between HKD 2.35 million and HKD 4.7 million. The watch’s dial features the long signature “Patek, Philippe & Co,” and its unique ivory warm-toned dial is truly stunning.
