Audemars Piguet (AP) is renowned for its relentless efforts in material innovation. This year, they have launched a new forged carbon watch utilizing Chroma Forged Technology (CFT), a technique that allows carbon fibers to be directly colored without the need for resin, significantly enhancing the watch’s wear and scratch resistance.

This Royal Oak Concept Series Double Split-Seconds GMT Chronograph features a 43mm case diameter and is equipped with the 4407 automatic movement, offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve and a water resistance depth of 50 meters. Its case is made of CFT carbon, making it lightweight and durable, perfectly suited for the characteristics of a sports watch.

In terms of design, the watch features a blue-accented dial with a skeletonized face and a black ceramic bezel. The overall blue luminescent fiber details are elegant and visually appealing, creating a strong visual contrast. The blue luminescent fibers complement the coating, enhancing the watch’s readability at night. The black PVD-treated skeletonized dial, paired with the blue chronograph sub-dial edges, adds a touch of sophistication to the watch. The design of the large date window further enhances the dynamic visual appeal, adding considerable charm to the watch.

Audemars Piguet (AP) has a long history of innovative materials, from tantalum metal in 1988, to the first introduction of forged carbon in 2007, and to BMG bulk metallic glass in 2021, each step demonstrating the brand’s bold attempts in material innovation. Now, this new forged carbon watch once again proves AP’s leading position in material innovation.

Additionally, the color of the chronograph dial and inner ring echoes the CFT Chroma Forged Technology, not only allowing the carbon fiber material to have diverse color layers but also enabling it to glow at night. This technology creates rich color effects by precisely controlling the coloring and arrangement of carbon fibers. The application of this technology breaks the traditional limitation of forged carbon materials being restricted to black and gray tones. Combined with the quick-release strap system introduced by AP in 2023, the watch reaches new heights in both performance and appearance.
